The MODALITIES and TREATMENT TOOLS:
Glyndora Condon MS MFT LPC CTMH CCTP CEMDRIA-Brainspotting Practitioner; Owner of Heal and Hope Counseling Services, LLC, noticed a newly trained, contracted Counselor, James Davidson LPC-MHSP-T, LMFT-T’s enthusiasm and passion for brainspotting, October 2021, and took notice regarding the trauma patients who were finding deeper relief from lifelong issues. Since she treats many who have been traumatized-then she purposed to research this modality and chose to add it to her long list of modalities that she integrates within her practice; as do her other Counselors.
MODALITIES: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Sensory Motor, Internal Family Systems, Person-Centered, Solution Focused, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, The Matrix, The Family Model, Social Skills for Teens, Psychotherapy, Grounding, Mindfulness-Centeredness, Future-Pull, Moral Injury, and other well-known commonly practiced therapeutic tools; are practiced by all counselors who form a team within her agency. They also include much needed components such as proper nutrition, boundaries of screens, emotional, physical, and social boundaries, social skills and communication skills, emotional empathy training, journaling, deep breathing, and a host of other helpful alternatives that increases the efficacy of therapy. Glyndora and her team of experts add certifications annually to their skill sets keeping abreast of the most updated modalities as they serve the community. She therefore included “brainspotting” within her studies and skill set.
www.Brainspotting.com is a link to information, trainings, and the story behind this particular modality. It was developed by Dr. David Grand, Ph.D, and is defined as a profound attunement between the client and the client’s therapist as the therapist guides the client to find somatic connections within the body and the down-regulating amygdala, to include the parasympathetic nervous system, resulting in homeostasis. The very powerful process works to release core neurophysiological sources of emotional and brain pain/discomfort, trauma, and dissociation, along with other challenges that are robbing patients of their quality of life and health. It utilizes bio-lateral sounds to activate direct and deep focus on the issues and the areas of containment-to assist the brain to heal. Basically, Brainspotting utilizes the visual field. (Borrowed)
Brainspotting: Is used to treat any trauma and engages the mid-brain to assist in healing sensori-motor memories. It has successfully treated blocks, slumps, and performance in sport issues; reduced pain/discomfort in physiological issues, aided with persistent genital arousal disorder issues, Generalized Anxiety Disorders, and Dissociative Disorders, and treats PTSD. We find it helps those with chronic depression and anxiety and has been fruitful when working with individuals who have Borderline Personality Disorder and other Mental Health issues. (Borrowed)
